SWIM 1922: Free Youth Water Safety & Swim Clinic

Swim 1922 was created to address the unfortunate truth that according to the CDC, approximately 10 people drown every day in the U.S.A. An even more startling fact is that 70 percent of African American children and 60 percent of Hispanic children in the U.S. do not know how to swim. Our goal is to provide opportunities for youth and adults within the African-American community to learn water safety in general and swimming specifically. 

Join the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho, Theta Alpha Sigma Chapter in our annual Swim 1922 swimming clinic where we will engage our youth in some free swimming lessons and learn pratical water skills. This event is FREE and open to the public (with registration) to children and adults of all ages. 

This year's event will take place at the Parker Memorial Community Center, located at 2621 Main St.,Hartford, CT 06120
